The Secretary supports the Chief Commissioner in the management of operations and policy across the UK.
The Secretary is responsible for:
- the management of the OSC budget of which she has charge on behalf the Chief Surveillance Commissioner
- the day to day operation of the OSC
- assisting in the development and implementation of policies, strategies and methodologies for the oversight of covert surveillance operations conducted by public authorities
- business planning, the publication of the Annual Report and OSC Procedures and Guidance
- overseeing of operational casework
- representing the Chief Surveillance Commissioner, Commissioners and Assistant Surveillance Commissioners on official business
