Advice and Guidance - Using The Statutory Powers

Introduction
All authorities with statutory power to use covert surveillance are subject to review and for that purpose to inspection.

Inspections apply to corporate policies and procedures for covert surveillance as well as to individual operations.

Examples of good practice are included in this section for the benefit of local authorities, health bodies and various government departments.
